Slack AI alternatives, compared

Slackbot is Slack's own AI: a personal agent in your Slack plan, paid per person. The tools here are AI teammates you add to Slack, most of them next to Slackbot. Glad is the flat-price option, Viktor writes code, Lindy adds your inbox, and Junior and Runbear also work in Teams.

Last updated 8 October 2026. We make Glad, so it is first. Every fact comes from each vendor's own site, sources below.

Why teams look past Slackbot

  • A seat for every person. Ongoing Slackbot access comes with Business+ or Enterprise+, paid per person. Free and Pro get a limited trial.

  • Personal, not shared. Slack calls Slackbot a personal AI agent. Some teams want one teammate the whole team hands work to in shared threads.

  • Tools outside Slack. Slackbot reaches other apps through Salesforce, installed apps and MCP servers. Teams with tools outside that list look for wider coverage.

When Slackbot is enough

  • You mainly want summaries, daily recaps, huddle notes, translations and search across your Slack history.

  • You are on Business+ or Enterprise+ already and want nothing new to buy or approve.

  • Your tools already connect to Slackbot through Salesforce or an MCP server, and repeating a task up to three times a day is enough.

The alternatives, one by one

1. Glad

$49/mo flat for 250 tasks

Best for: Teams of any size that want one AI teammate for everyday work across their tools, next to Slackbot, at a bill they know before the month starts.

Strengths

  • One flat price per workspace with a hard cap. No seats, no credits and no overage bill.
  • 1,500+ tools. Each person connects their own accounts, and a shared connection needs an admin's approval.
  • A memory page where you see, edit and delete what Glad remembers, with where each memory came from.
  • An audit log, approvals and per-person limits on every plan, on any Slack plan.

Limits

  • Reads only the threads and channels it is added to. It does not search your whole Slack history like Slackbot.
  • No scheduled jobs yet. They are planned.
  • Does not write and run code or build apps yet. A code sandbox is planned.
  • Slack only today; Microsoft Teams is planned. No SOC 2 report yet; it is planned.

2. Viktor

From $50 a month

Best for: Teams that want an AI employee that also writes code, builds dashboards and deploys small apps.

Strengths

  • Its own cloud computer writes and runs code, and it can deploy web apps.
  • Works in Slack and Microsoft Teams, with scheduled and recurring jobs.
  • 3,200+ tools, and it makes reports, decks, PDFs and video.
  • SOC 2 Type 1. No seat price.

Limits

  • A quick task uses 100 to 300 credits and a full project 2,000 to 5,000, so the month is hard to plan.
  • Tool connections are shared across the team. Per-user token scoping is on its roadmap.

3. Lindy

From $29.99 per person a month

Best for: People who want one assistant for their email inbox as well as for Slack threads.

Strengths

  • Works in Slack threads and mentions, and manages email inboxes with drafted replies.
  • 1,500+ integrations, plus MCP support.
  • When the shared credits run low it pauses instead of sending a surprise bill.
  • SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA on Enterprise with a signed BAA.

Limits

  • Priced per person: anyone who signs up or mentions Lindy in Slack takes a seat.
  • A task uses 2 to 2,500 credits, so the use in a month is hard to plan.
  • Credits do not roll over to the next month.

4. Junior

From $100 a month

Best for: Teams that want an AI employee set up for one role, such as sales, marketing or ops, in Slack or Teams.

Strengths

  • Works in Slack and Microsoft Teams.
  • 3,000+ apps, persistent memory of the organization, and scheduled work.
  • Approvals on customer-facing actions are on by default.
  • No seat price; the plan covers up to 5 Juniors.

Limits

  • Credits follow the AI tokens used, so the cost moves with the work.
  • The SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress, not done.
  • The entry plan is $100 a month.

5. Runbear

From $99 a month

Best for: Teams that build several agents for support and ops and need them in Slack, Teams and Discord.

Strengths

  • Works in Slack, Microsoft Teams and Discord.
  • Quick answers use about 5 credits, so 20,000 credits go far for simple questions.
  • Agents pause when credits run out. Pay-as-you-go is optional.
  • SOC 2 Type II.

Limits

  • Deep work uses 300 to 1,500 credits, so mixed use is hard to plan.
  • The audit log and SSO need the $399 Business plan.
  • The Team plan has 5 builders.

6. Dust

From €30 per person a month

Best for: Larger teams that build custom agents on their company knowledge and use them in a web app and in Slack.

Strengths

  • Custom agents with skills, knowledge, tools and 20+ models.
  • @Dust answers in public and private Slack channels and can call a specific agent.
  • SOC 2 Type II, and data residency in the US or the EU.
  • A free seat with 500 credits to try it.

Limits

  • Priced per person, with credits on top.
  • @Dust does not answer in Slack direct messages.
  • Audit logs are on the Enterprise plan.

7. Tasklet

From $25 a month

Best for: Automations that run on a schedule or on events, with a browser for sites that have no API.

Strengths

  • Triggers and schedules, with approval controls.
  • A web browser and a sandboxed command line on paid plans.
  • Unlimited team members on one shared credit pool.
  • SOC 2.

Limits

  • No free plan.
  • You work with it in its own app. In Slack, a message or a reaction can start an agent, and it can reply in the thread.
  • Monthly credits do not roll over.

How we picked these tools

Each tool does work for a team, not only chat, and works with Slack in some way. We took every price and feature from the vendor's own site on 8 October 2026, and we did not use review sites. We make Glad, so we put it first; read the limits we list for it too.

Questions

What is the best Slack AI alternative?

Most of these tools work next to Slackbot rather than replace it. For one team AI teammate at a fixed monthly bill, Glad. For code and apps, Viktor. For an assistant that also runs your email inbox, Lindy. For Microsoft Teams as well, Junior or Runbear. For custom agents on company knowledge, Dust.

Do I need to turn off Slackbot to use these tools?

No. Glad, Viktor, Lindy, Junior, Runbear and Dust are Slack apps that you add to your workspace, and Slackbot keeps working. Tasklet runs in its own app and can be started from Slack.

Which Slack plan do I need for Slackbot?

Ongoing Slackbot access is on Business+ ($15 a person a month billed yearly) and Enterprise+. Free and Pro get a limited trial. The alternatives here are priced on their own and work on any Slack plan that allows apps; the free Slack plan allows up to 10.

Which alternative has a flat price?

Glad. It costs $49 a month for 250 tasks for the whole workspace, and the price does not move. Lindy and Dust charge per person, with credits. Viktor, Junior, Runbear and Tasklet sell credits per workspace.

Which alternatives run scheduled jobs?

Viktor, Junior and Tasklet. Slackbot can also repeat a task, up to three automatic runs a day. Glad has no scheduled jobs yet; they are planned.
