Glad vs Slackbot: what each one does

Slackbot is Slack's own AI: a personal agent that knows your Slack history and comes with your Slack plan. Glad is an AI teammate the whole team hands work to across its other tools, for one flat price per workspace. They do different jobs, and you can use both.

Last updated 8 October 2026. We make Glad. Slackbot facts come from slack.com, sources below.

The short answer

Choose Glad if

  • You want one AI teammate that the whole team hands work to in shared threads.
  • You want a flat price per workspace instead of a Business+ seat for every person.
  • The work lives in tools beyond Slack: Glad connects to 1,500+.
  • You want to see and fix what the AI remembers about your team.

Use Slackbot if

  • You want summaries, recaps, huddle notes and search across your own Slack history.
  • Your team is on Business+ or Enterprise+ already, so there is nothing new to buy.
  • You need repeating tasks today.
  • You run on Salesforce and want Agentforce agents inside Slack.

How do teams use both?

The prices do not compare one to one. Slackbot is part of a Slack plan you pay per person, and that plan pays for all of Slack. Glad is one price for the workspace, on any Slack plan. One way to split the work:

  1. 1

Ask Slackbot for your own catch-up: what you missed, a channel recap, the notes from a huddle.

  2. 2

Mention @Glad in the thread when the team needs work done in other tools: update the deal, file the ticket, write the report.

  3. 3

Glad asks for a yes in the thread before anything that cannot be undone, so the whole team sees it.

  4. 4

Check what Glad remembered and what it did on its memory page and in the audit log.

Where Slackbot is better today

  • It already knows your Slack: it searches every channel and message you can see, not only the threads it is added to.

  • Summaries, daily recaps, huddle notes and translations are built into Slack.

  • It repeats tasks on a schedule. Glad has no scheduled jobs yet.

  • Nothing new to buy or approve if you are on Business+ or Enterprise+.

  • It works with Salesforce and Agentforce agents, and Enterprise+ adds enterprise search across other apps.

  • It works anywhere Slack is available, with no new vendor to review.

Where Glad is different

  • A teammate, not a personal agent. The team mentions Glad in shared threads, and everyone sees the work and the approvals.

  • One price for the workspace. No seat per person and a hard cap. Talking with Glad, approvals, and runs that deliver nothing are free.

  • 1,500+ tools. A tool does not need its own Slack app or MCP server. Each person connects their own accounts, and a shared connection needs an admin's approval.

  • Memory you can edit. Every memory shows where it came from, and you can fix, delete or restore it.
