Update HubSpot deals from Slack without opening the CRM

You can update HubSpot deals from Slack by mentioning @Glad in a thread and saying what changed, for example "move Northwind to Contract Sent and log this thread as a note." Glad finds the deal through your own HubSpot connection, shows you exactly what it will change, and waits for your yes before it writes anything. Questions about a deal, like its stage or last activity, get an answer right away.

@Glad move the Northwind renewal to Contract Sent and log a note from this thread: legal wants a 60 day out clause.
GladAPP
Found one match: "Northwind renewal", owner Dana, stage Proposal, amount 24,000. Two changes in HubSpot, and I need your yes first: 1) move it to Contract Sent, 2) add the note "Legal wants a 60 day out clause."

Approval needed

Done. Northwind renewal is in Contract Sent and the note is on the deal's timeline. (link to the deal)
Example thread: names and amounts are made up, and the approval card is shortened.

How to update HubSpot deals with Glad

  1. 1

Connect your own HubSpot account to Glad.

Glad uses that connection only when you are the one asking. Sharing it with the rest of the team needs an admin's approval.

  2. 2

Invite @Glad to the channel where your team talks about deals, such as #sales.

Glad sees only the channels it has been invited to.

  3. 3

Mention @Glad in the thread and describe the change in your own words.

Name the deal the way your team does; Glad searches for it.

  4. 4

Read the approval card and say yes.

Glad makes the change and replies in the thread with a link to the deal.

Example requests

  • Y

@Glad move the Northwind renewal to Contract Sent and add a note: legal wants a 60 day out clause.

  • Y

@Glad find every open deal I own with no activity in 14 days and list them with amounts.

  • Y

@Glad read this thread, log it as a note on the Acme deal, then create a follow-up task for Friday.

  • Y

@Glad set the close date of the Brightline deal to November 30 and the amount to 18,000.

  • Y

@Glad what stage is the Orbit Labs deal in, and when was the last activity?

What Glad does in HubSpot

HubSpotHubSpot

Runs without asking

  • Search deals, list deals and open a single deal
  • List a deal's activities and meetings
  • Search contacts and companies, and open a company
  • List a contact's notes and tasks
  • Read your pipelines, deal stages and owners

Asks first

  • Update a deal, or several deals in one request
  • Create a deal, a note or a task
  • Create a contact, update a contact or a company
  • Merge two deals
In Slack, Glad can also open a message link with its whole thread, read a channel it is in, and look up a teammate by name. Those are reads too.
Every HubSpot write asks first, because a CRM change is visible to the whole team. If your team wants fewer asks for one action, an admin can set that tool to always allowed.

Other ways to do this

HubSpot's own Slack app covers the basics. HubSpot's knowledge base says that once Slack is connected, "you can view, create, and update HubSpot records from Slack." You can turn a Slack message into a HubSpot task, ticket or note. For deals, the app shows an Update deal stage action to move a deal through stages, and you create contacts, companies and deals from the Run Shortcut icon in a channel, through a dialog box.

Breeze Assistant in Slack goes further. HubSpot says it lets you "search and summarize CRM records, create and update records across all objects, manage tickets, analyze your pipeline, prepare for meetings, and summarize Slack threads, using natural language." You must turn it on in your HubSpot account, and you @mention it for each request. HubSpot also notes that "Breeze Assistant does not monitor channels or threads automatically."

Where HubSpot is better: if the work starts and ends inside HubSpot, Breeze is the native route and knows HubSpot more deeply than Glad does. The Update deal stage action is also quicker for a single stage move. Glad fits when one request crosses tools, for example reading a Gmail thread and a calendar event before it updates the deal, and when you want one flat price per Slack workspace for that work.

Limits

  • Glad uses the HubSpot connection of the person who asks. If you have not connected HubSpot, Glad says so and changes nothing.
  • Glad does not watch your pipeline. It will not post when a deal moves, and it will not clean up stale deals overnight. No scheduled jobs yet. They are planned.
  • HubSpot's own rules still apply to every change Glad sends through your account.
  • A deal discussed in a private channel needs @Glad invited to that channel first.

Questions

Can I update a HubSpot deal from Slack?

Yes. HubSpot's Slack app moves a deal stage and adds tasks, tickets and notes, and Breeze Assistant handles broader changes. With Glad, you mention @Glad in a thread, say what changed, and approve the update.

How do I log a Slack thread as a note on a HubSpot deal?

Reply in the thread with "@Glad log this thread as a note on the Acme deal." Glad reads the thread, writes the note, and adds it to the deal after your yes.

Can Glad change a deal's amount or close date?

Yes. Name the deal and the new values. Glad lists the changes on the approval card and updates the deal when you approve.

Is it safe to let an AI edit our CRM?

Every HubSpot write waits for a yes from the person who asked, in the same thread. Reads run without asking, and only an admin can let a write skip the ask.

Can teammates use my HubSpot login through Glad?

No. Connections are personal. Each person connects their own account, and sharing one with the team needs an admin's approval.

What does it cost to update HubSpot from Slack with Glad?

Glad is priced per Slack workspace, with no seats and no credits. Starter is $49 a month for 250 tasks, and the free trial gives 50 tasks with no card. A request that uses a connected tool counts as one task.
