Meeting prep in Slack with AI: one brief from your calendar, inbox and CRM
Last updated 9 October 2026
Example thread
How to prepare for a meeting with Glad
- 1
Connect your own Google Calendar and Gmail, and HubSpot if your deals live there.
Glad reads them through your connections only, and only for your requests.
- 2
Add @Glad to the channels where the account comes up.
A private account channel needs Glad invited as well.
- 3
Before the call, mention @Glad with the meeting name or time, and say which sources belong in the brief.
- 4
Ask for the next step in the same thread: a follow-up email saved as a Gmail draft, or the brief as a Markdown file.
Example requests
- Y
@Glad I have a call with Orbit Labs at 2pm. Pull the calendar invite, our last three emails with them, the HubSpot deal, and anything said about them in #sales this week. Give me a one page brief.
- Y
@Glad what meetings do I have tomorrow with people outside the company? One line each with the deal stage.
- Y
@Glad read the thread I linked and the last email from Priya, then list the three questions I should ask on Thursday's call.
- Y
@Glad make a brief for Monday's board call from the open HubSpot deals over 50,000 and last week's #leadership channel. Save it as a Markdown file.
- Y
@Glad draft a follow-up email to everyone on today's 11am call. Do not send it.

HubSpotHubSpot

Other ways to do this
The manual way is a tab marathon: open the calendar, search your inbox for the attendees, open the CRM record, scroll the account channel, and paste it all into a doc.
Slack has its own answer. Slack describes Slackbot as "your personal AI agent in Slack that understands you and your workspace, helping you to prepare for upcoming meetings, analyse reports and create project briefs." Slack's help center adds that each plan has its own limit on messages to Slackbot, that on Free and Pro plans Slackbot is available only during a trial or preview, and that Business+ limits reset weekly.
HubSpot's Breeze Assistant in Slack also lists "prepare for meetings" among its jobs, alongside searching and summarizing CRM records.
Where they are better: if your team is on a Slack plan with Slackbot and the context you need lives in Slack and your calendar, Slackbot is already there with no extra vendor. If all the context is in HubSpot, Breeze is the native route. Glad fits when one brief needs Gmail, Calendar, HubSpot and Slack together, through each person's own connections.
Limits
- No automatic brief before each meeting. No scheduled jobs yet. They are planned. For now you ask each time.
- Each source needs your own connection. If Gmail or HubSpot is not connected, Glad tells you which part is missing.
- Glad does not record or transcribe calls. It works from calendar, email, CRM and Slack text.
- Sending the follow-up email always asks for your yes. Saving a draft does not.
Questions
Can Slack AI prepare me for a meeting?
Yes. Slack says Slackbot helps you prepare for upcoming meetings, with message limits that depend on your Slack plan. Glad adds your Gmail, Google Calendar and HubSpot through your own connections when the brief needs them.
What should a meeting brief include?
Who is attending and why they booked, the last emails between you, the deal stage and last activity, what your team said about the account recently, and the questions to ask. Tell Glad which of these you want and it leaves out the rest.
Can AI read my Google Calendar and Gmail from Slack?
Glad can, once you connect your own accounts. Connections are personal, so a teammate's request never uses your inbox.
Will Glad email the attendees or change the event?
Only after your yes in the thread. Reading is free of asks, a Gmail draft is saved without one, and every send waits for you.
Does Glad send a brief before every meeting automatically?
No. Glad has no scheduled jobs yet; they are planned. Ask in Slack shortly before the call and the brief comes back in the thread.
Can I save the meeting brief as a file?
Yes. Ask for a Markdown or text file and Glad attaches it in the thread.
